The Pollen Pirate

Threat: Stealing pollen from fruit blossoms

He wears a hat big enough to shade an apple tree and calls every blossom 'buried treasure'. His pockets are full of stolen pollen, not gold.

The Honeyvale scheme

Swoop into Honeyvale's orchards and vacuum the pollen from fruit flowers before the bees can carry it between blossoms. Fewer pollinated flowers could mean less fruit growing. Then Lady Artificial and Lord Refined can push their flashy processed snacks as the only choice left. The Pirate gets a share of every sale.

The hero's move

ManukaMan and Buzz follow the golden pollen trail, free the stolen pollen and keep the blossoms open for the bees. Honeyvale's fruit trees get another chance to grow fruit.

Real-world intel: Flowers need pollen

Pollination moves pollen between flowers. For many fruit crops, this helps flowers develop into fruit. Bees are important pollinators, though different plants can also use wind or other animals.
